The Milan High School drumline means a lot to the city of Milan. Everyone who participates in the Drumline consists of high school students that choose to do the extracurricular activity. The members of our Drumline work super hard to get a great performance out every single time we go to play for an event.
We practice tons to make sure that we can play the music we choose, perfectly, and so it sounds clean. We perform around the city in Milan for different events, but we do it every single year and we make sure we're on time. We usually perform during varsity football games as well as all of the parades that include Christmas parade, homecoming parade, and finally the Labor Day Parade.
There can be other extra activities or events that people invite us to that we choose to participate in. The reason we do all this for people is because we love to see the happy smiles on all of the Milan communities' faces. To look out there and see kids smiling and parents being happy, it is a great feeling. Not only is it great for the community but it's also great for us. We love doing it.
It makes us happy too. To introduce you to some of the members we have Cody Vavrek, the co-captain of the Drumline. There is Devin Glushyn, the head captain of Drumline. Then we have all of the members that we teach such as Angelina Pena, Caiden Lambers, Carter Somerville, Gabriella Dryden, Kayden Englehart, Lillian Rose, Mackenzie McDaniel, Kooper Scarbrough, Owen Burdette, Wesley Murphy, Logan Essex, Rachel Helzerman, Oscar Haeske, Brody Paselk, and Benjamin Orlando. We usually practice every Monday from 5:30 to 6:30, but it varies from year to year depending on everyone's schedule and if they have sports to play.
If a lot of people have things going on at that time, we usually will move it to a different day that is accommodating to everyone, so we can get the practice together that we need. Another thing to touch on is that we get our music from freedrumlinemusic, which is a great site if you want to learn easy songs to hard songs. It is based on skill level, so you can work your way up to the harder ones.
