Fall Play Starts Up After Covid

After a long year of no shows, the theater kids are ready to get back on stage! The MHS Theater program just started back up after not having any shows since Addams Family in spring, 2020, due to the school closure. The theater group did not even get to perform all of their planned shows that year. The show that they are performing this fall was announced on September 7th, followed by auditions that took place on September 14th and 15th. The production for the fall play this year is Clue On Stage.

There are many students that missed the theater program and are excited for the new show to come. Emily Wagner, a junior in the theater program, was asked if she was excited about coming back to the theater program. “I am very excited about going back to the theater! I missed getting to work on the set, and make connections with people I may not have considered talking to.” Ben Orlando, a junior, is ready to do the show this year. “I like the show we are doing this year because I think we have a great cast that was well put together and I think it is a very interesting show”.

Since Mrs. Jeffers, the past fall play director, moved to Milan Middle School; there is a new director for this year's production. Dennis Glass is the new director for the fall play. He helped with Addams Family which was the last spring musical that the High School produced.

The vision for the Clue play is that it is based in the 1940s. This 1940s theme for the play fits in perfectly with the board game that we all know and love. There are 18 different characters in this play. From Professor Plum to Mrs. Peacock.

All the departments are working hard to produce a great comeback show after a year of being shut down. It’s great to know that the theater kids will be back on stage, showing the audience the best they can be!
