A year to remember…
All the other years have been memorable, but with the 80th edition and significant events, it is definitely going to be a year to remember. Over the years at Milan High School, each year has been significant. This year is the first year that we are back full-time in over a year. Not only are we back full time, but we are also back full time with masks on. The 2021-2022 yearbook is going to recognize the significance of the effect on Covid-19 on our year.
Throughout time, the yearbook has been created by students and other yearbook staff. Since our school colors are black, red, and white, our past themes have been on the darker side. The colors have set a moodier theme. However, there is a lot going on in the U.S right now. A lot of negativity and sadness. So, the 80th edition yearbook this year is lightening the mood with some brighter colors. The colors chosen this year are yellow, blue, and traditional white, red, and black. The hope is to draw away from the negative, and resurface the positive that was lost when Covid-19 began changing nearly everything, worldwide.
The yearbook has been around dating all the way back to 1942. As far as we’re concerned, the students have always been a part of creating, designing, and getting people to buy yearbooks. Many themes and events that are in the old yearbooks are also all in the past and upcoming yearbooks. For example, sports have always been a large and popular event in Milan High School. The uniforms and wardrobe have changed significantly from then to now. Back then, the boys used to wear tight and short uniforms. Today, uniforms are much more modest for men. Other than style, women's uniforms haven't changed a whole lot.
The 2021-22 80th edition yearbooks are now available to purchase online at www.jostens.com. They are currently $60, but the price goes up as the year goes on. Sponsorships are also being accepted in exchange for recognition in the yearbook.
