With 250 tackles and 6 interceptions in addition to an impressive offensive career, it was known that Cole McElvany was going somewhere. Where? Eastern Michigan.
Now that Cole is an Eagle, he is living out a lifelong dream. Cole was quick to clarify that this is only the beginning. Getting there is not enough for the former big red.
“It feels great to get here. To know that all of my hard work over the years has paid off. However, I do know that this is just the beginning, and to be fully satisfied, I need to do more than just get here” Cole explained.
While this is only the beginning for Cole, he is well aware that getting the opportunity to play Division 1 college football is a great achievement. Reuniting with former big reds Tristen Hines and Evan Furtney, Cole is excited to run it back.
Cole stated, “It is really cool… playing with (Tristen and Evan) my sophomore year was one of the most fun years of playing I’ve had, so to do it again is really cool.”
Overall, Cole is doing great at college. Playing football, going to school, and making new friends, Cole is living out a lifelong dream. That being said, the stud linebacker has not forgotten his roots.
“I miss people that I’m used to seeing every day that now I only get to see once in a while. My friends from high school, and my family… I enjoyed the last few years of my life a ton, but I am also very excited for the journey I am just starting.” Cole said.
